He is a 1985 graduate of the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College, and a member of the Oregon Bar since 1986.
An independent consultant since January 2014, Kevin brings his 27+ years of experience to training and coaching a select group of clients, improving their business development and marketing efforts to achieve measurable success. His services focus on six areas:
- Custom-designed business development workshops;
- Individual business development coaching;
- Sales training programs;
- Presentation skills training;
- Retreats and group meetings; and
- Curriculum design and strategic planning.
Kevin is a teacher. After completing a Master of Arts degree in rhetorical theory at the University of Iowa, he served five years as a college communications and theater instructor. The experience was foundational to his understanding of communication and teaching adults.
Kevin has delivered interactive instructional programs and presentations on many marketing and business development topics. This spring, he will be presenting at the LMA National Conference on the topic of “Gamification in Business Development Training.” His training programs reward participants open to teaching and learning from each other through their collective experiences.
Kevin’s approach to coaching is both empathetic and direct. His coaching sessions emphasize simple, specific business plans that help uncover short-term actions that integrate with long-term goals.
Recognized as a “pioneer” in legal marketing, Kevin served as National President of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) in 1992, was inducted into the LMA “Hall of Fame” in 2012, and was inducted into the College of Law Practice Management last October.
When he is not working, Kevin is a distance runner, golfer and home brewer. His wife, Jenny, is an accomplished genealogist and equestrian. They have three adult children.
